But seriously the main stand out from Monster is Seungri

He’s not even my bias but most of my love goes to him right now.

I mean he was always thought of as the adorable maknae who was always tried hard to make everyone laugh. 

He didn’t get the most amount of time to sing in songs and didn’t get the most screentime in music videos.

I just felt like people didn’t take him seriously. He was never the star. I admit even I thought this at one time or another.

But in Monster this completely changed.

His voice is so haunting and beautiful amongst the harshness of the m/v. Those who didn’t believe he had a strong voice should absolutely kick themselves.

He looks confident and bold, you can see in his face that he’s matured. He looks more like a man than a boy.

I just felt so proud! 

Well done Seungri!

Know Your Bollywood Scandals: Puppy Love

They may be superstars today, but in the early 2000s, Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan were two of the industry’s hottest debutantes. Their pedigrees were impeccable: Hrithik was the son of renowned director/producer Rakesh Roshan, and Kareena belonged to the fifth generation of India’s oldest family of actors. When the two appeared together in the 2001 film Yaadein, their chemistry was palpable, and the cinema-going masses geared up for what was expected to be a long and successful romantic pairing.

But even before sparks began to fly onscreen, rumors surfaced of a heated offscreen affair between the two costars. At the time of filming, Hrithik was engaged to marry his longtime sweetheart, Suzanne Khan. Suzanne is the daughter of actor and director Sanjay Khan; the Roshans and the Khans shared a long association, and many prominent industry personalities had a vested interest in seeing Hrithik and Suzanne’s relationship succeed.

So, naturally, the Stardust coverstory claiming to reveal details about Hrithik and Kareena’s affair caused quite a stir in Bollywood. Published on the eve of Hrithik and Suzanne’s wedding, Stardust editor and popular author Shobhaa De claimed to have personal knowledge of a relationship between the two young actors. The story hinged upon an alleged incident where Hrithik and Kareena were seen kissing on an airplane, though several other sighting of the pair behaving affectionately would surface over the next few years. 

Though Hrithik and Suzanne’s wedding went off without a hitch, the Roshans were furious with De’s story. The affair was vehemently denied by all parties, with Rakesh Roshan even going so far as to threaten to sue Stardust (interestingly enough, Stardust refused to retract the story, and a lawsuit never materialized). But if gossip mongers are to be believed, the Hrithik/Kareena relationship didn’t end there. They went on to star in three more films together before their professional association abruptly ended, allegedly at the behest of Hrithik’s father-in-law, Sanjay Khan.

Yet the affair continued to be spoken of openly by otherwise-respected film journalists. Some cite the behavior of the stars themselves as evidence that the two were more than friends. For her part, Kareena denied the rumors, but in 2003 she gave an interview in which she made it a point to mention how personally painful it was to be in a secret relationship. Meanwhile, Hrithik attempted to dodge questions as to why he no longer worked with Kareena. At first, he claimed that they had never been offered any films together after 2003’s Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon. When a journalist confronted him with the fact that he knew for certain they continued to be a sought-after jodi and had been offered at least four other films together, Hrithik backtracked, saying that none of those scripts had interested him. The real story, according to most sources, is that Hrithik consciously avoided working with Kareena, at least until he finally agreed to star with her in Zoya Akhtar’s Kismet Talkies, a film that never took off.

While the true nature of Kareena and Hrithik’s relationship is unknown, the two have not worked together in almost a decade. Last year, Kareena was offered an item song in Hrithik’s Agneepath reboot, an offer she turned down. Both maintain that they are open to working together if the right project comes along.

My opinion? Most actors in the film industry are unfaithful. Hrithik is not necessarily an exception, despite his family-man image. When two of the industry’s biggest stars don’t work together for over nine years, I have to believe that personal issues are probably to blame. And more than that, I see no reason for Shobhaa De to lie. She’s not known to mince words when it comes to celebrity scandals. This rumor is one I believe.
